First Day of School

Our host mom dropped Jill and I off at school today on her way to work. We had a welcome reception/ breakfast at the university and then attended our first class, agroecology. After class, we were given a tour of Angers and walked to the cafeteria where we had lunch. The food was fantastic and completely different from American cafeterias. The food had true culinary merit and was prepared with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. I can tell our lunches at the cafeteria will be something I eagerly await each day.
Our School, Ecole Superieure d'Agriculture
Following lunch, the band of us headed back to our final class for the day which covered the international burden to alleviate world hunger. It was very interesting to hear French sentiments about Americans, agriculture, politics, and the issues of world hunger and global warming. Following school we walked back to our home and spent the remainder of the night with our host family. Their son, Timoteo, finally began to warm up to Jill and I. We played 'toss the balloon' and 'king of the couch,' games that proved to be fun despite the language barrier.
